Blog Believers

Yesterday I returned from a stint in southeast Asia. I participated in a cross cultural negotiations class with Thai students at Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok. I also took advantage of the time to travel to three countries. In Thailand I combed Bangkok and Ko Samet, Thai for Escape Island, located south of Bangkok. In Laos I trekked the mountains of Luang Prabang with a Hmong guide. Finally, I was awestruck by the temples, including Angkor Wat, in Siem Reap, Cambodia.

After this experience and some conversation with my travelmate, I have decided it is time to revive this blog. The hesitation of blogging is rooted in the difficult decision of how to focus the blog. For the time being, this blog will serve as a travel, music, and books blog, reserving the right to mold it with time.

Why blog? Hans Christian Anderson, a famous Scandinavian, says that "Life itself is the most wonderful fairytale." This is a quote I have posted on a shoe picture holder in my living room/kitchen divide. Its inspiration applies to blogging. Why not write about daily life and the fairytale of it all? The quote and this blog post is today dedicated to my travelmate, a once blog skeptic who may find a blog spirit here on climbing-a-mountain-in-heels.

Stay tuned for travel details and photos.
