This past weekend I joined a backpacking expedition in the Santa Rosa Wilderness Area. We hiked Martinez and Sheep Mountain and spotted this rattle snake about 20 minutes shy of returning to our cars. Glad to have made it back!
I took many pictures of desert flowers.

Rattlesnake soup - and you get to keep the rattle for the kids.
I am not hiking with you anymore Sarah as it appears you attract rattlesnakes! I had not seen one in over a year on the trail until last weekend when we hiked San Gorgonio Peak together and again, near the end of the hike we spotted one. I am sure their is a joke there, something about lawyers and snakes but we will not go there. ;-)
